Moose, Morning Frost

When visiting Colorado over the past few years I've had every single one of my friends tell me that Brainard Lake was a great location to find moose. It seems they'd all come to expect to see moose whenever they went there. Somehow, though, my timing was always wrong and there were never moose. Until this last visit.

There are no moose in Maryland. There are hardly any on the east coast. If I travel far North to areas like Maine and Canada I *might* spot one, but I never have. In fact, the only place I'd ever seen moose was in Montana and Wyoming, and I'd yet to photograph a moose that didn't look like he had Mickey Mouse ears for antlers.

To have the opportunity to photograph a moose like this thrills me. Sure, I'd like to have had it turn out a little sharper, but you can bet this one will still end up on the wall above my workstation to keep me going when I start lamenting the lack of moose in Maryland.
